The Kenyan business culture dates from the colonial period. Kenya’s urban areas, particularly Nairobi, are noted for their large number of well-educated English-speaking, and multi-lingual professionals, and for their strong entrepreneurial tradition. It is also a very a young country with almost 70 percent of the population under the age of 35. Kenya has since embraced entrepreneurship to competing globally. It goes without saying that competition and new technology has played a vital part in propelling businesses to the next level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information communications technology (ICT) is one of the fastest growing business sectors in Kenya, and Internet access rates are some of the highest in sub- Saharan Africa. With this still in mind, there still exists new and many opportunities in Kenya for business growth. So then how are business processes managed in Kenya?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In most cases, businesses adopt systems to help them manage their operations. These operations are categorized into procurement, Customer relations, Financial management, inventory management and sales and marketing. The market offers a myriad of systems to manage these operations. An entrepreneur can therefore choose to have single systems to run the operations or have one system to run all the operations. The latter is what is majorly known as ERP System. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Webopedia defines ERP as a business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources. ERP software integrates all facets of an operation, including product planning, development, manufacturing, sales and marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The difference between the single systems and the multiple systems is that an integrated system gives you reporting systems from all the departments. Your decision-making on the growth of the business and development of unique selling proposition (USP) is then based on the statistics from the reports.
