In Kenya, MSMEs account for more than 95% of businesses, registered or not, and also for over 80% of all jobs created. They drive innovation and provide the gateway to production and distribution of the bulk of the consumer products in the country. Of great interest is the MSMEs in the retail sector who account for more than 50% of the total trade conducted in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technoserve Kenya is a non-profit organization which has been partnering with these businesses for the better part of the last 50 years in Kenya. They enable small businesses with education & training in business acumen, financing and access to market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, in the aftermath of the Covid 2019 lockdown and the subsequent struggles that MSMEs suffered Technoserve launched the mSpark project. This was supposed to see to it that not only did the Kenyan MSMEs in retail trained and financed, but also provided with a way to conduct their trade better. This was to be done by the use of proper bookkeeping technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technoserve Kenya is a non-profit organization which has been partnering with these businesses for the better part of the last 30 years in Kenya<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For many MSMEs, bookkeeping had often been viewed as complicated, time-consuming, or simply unaffordable. Without proper records, accessing financing, monitoring profitability, managing cash flow, and meeting regulatory requirements had become significantly more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing this challenge, Technoserve Kenya partnered with Wavuh in order to develop a practical, easy-to-use Mini ERP focused on bookkeeping and financial management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wavuh worked closely with Technoserve to design and deploy a lightweight Mini ERP that focused on the essentials every growing business needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than overwhelming users with enterprise-level complexity, the solution emphasized simplicity, accessibility, and practical day-to-day bookkeeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
